Tata 1012 LPT

The 1012 LPT is a 4-tyre cargo truck in the entry-level ICV category that comes in the price range of ₹ 17.40 - ₹ 18.40 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi. This is a 10T gross weight truck that is capable of taking on all kinds of transport shipment needs.

Tata 1012 LPT Engine & GearBox: The 1012 LPT comes with the proven powertrain consisting of 4-cylinder 3.3L, 3300 cc displacement in-line water-cooled direct injection, with intercooler BS6 engine. It produces 123 hp of power at 390 Nm of torque and tuned to Tata’s 5-speed gearbox with 5-forward and 1-reverse gear. 

Tata 1012 LPT Suspensions: The front suspension is a semi-elliptical leaf spring with hydraulic double acting telescopic shock absorbers and at the rear is a semi-elliptical leaf spring.

Tata 1012 LPT Axle & Brakes: The rear axle on this ICV is TATA’s RA 1068 fully floating banjo axle. The brakes are dual circuit full air S Cam with auto slack adjuster both front and rear in drum type. 

Tata 1012 LPT Dimension, Cabin & Cargo Body: To carry the cargo trips, it gets a comfortable day cabin and available in four wheelbases 3400 mm and 3800 mm, 4530 mm, 4920 mm. Exterior

1012 LPT is identical to other trucks in the ICV range offered by Tata Motors, largely due to the front facia and cabin shared among all the trucks. The 9600 kg gross vehicle weight category is retailed in cabin and body, closed body, fixed side deck, high side deck, and container applications. 

The all-steel cabin structure is strong for any impact and looks pretty for this truck. The 1012 LPT is now available in 3400 mm (4347 x 2117 x 1835), 3800 mm (5217 x 2117 x 1835), 4530 mm (6167 x 2117 x 1835) and 4920 mm (6797 x 2117 x 1835) wheelbases and load body dimensions. The 8.25 X16- 16PR tyres are robust sidewall which provides sufficient lateral holding power with wider tread surface. The enhanced high-speed stability and less rolling resistance help in better fuel economy and superior tyre mileage. A standard fuel tank of 120-liter size. 

Interior

The interior is similar to this truck, like the other ICV offering from Tata Motors. The focus has been to make this truck easy to handle, run, and maintain with driver-friendly features and a roomy cabin. To make driving easier, the tilt and telescopic steering help in effortless manoeuvrability in narrow lanes. So does the four-spoke soft-touch steering wheel for the smooth driving experience.

Performance

To perform the time-sensitive and vital deliveries on short to medium routes effortlessly 1012 LPT comes with a powerful engine and superior aggregates. To achieve the goal of higher mileage, pick up, faster shipment deliveries, 1012LPT is equipped with 3.3 liters, new generation, 4-cylinder inline water-cooled direct Injection BS6 diesel engine. The power of 123hp comes at adequate 390 Nm with smooth and easy to operate Tata's GBS 40 5-speed gearbox. Tata Motors says this truck is developed for Indian duty cycles with a new engine that delivers greater mileage, a higher response at the start, and much more cargo loading capacities for greater revenue potential. 

Apart from the new engine, 1012 LPT also gets fully floating banjo type; the 310 mm clutch is a single plate dry friction type. Parabolic leaf spring with hydraulic double acting telescopic shock absorbers at the front and the rear semi-elliptical leaf spring. The brakes are dual circuit full air S cam-type, auto slack adjuster drum type with ABS.
