Ashok Leyland Begins Delivery Of India’s First LNG Truck – AVTR 1922

Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, commenced the delivery of India’s first LNG-powered haulage truck, the AVTR 1922, to Mahanagar Gas Limited in Hosur. With this, Ashok Leyland claims that it is the first Indian original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to offer an in-house LNG engine, compliant with BS6 Stage 2 emissions standards. 

The AVTR 1922 is built on Ashok Leyland’s AVTR platform, ensuring a high degree of modularity with Ashok Leyland's existing diesel truck range. With a proven 6-cylinder H-series engine, Ashok Leyland says the AVTR 1922 LNG truck, built on India’s first fully modular truck platform, has set new benchmarks in the Indian commercial vehicle industry.
