Exterior

The new Tata T.18 Ultra SL is an extremely versatile and modern truck in the ILCV segment coming with a modern design and a seriously commendable build quality, making it a very balanced package for a variety of business operations in the Indian market. The truck comes with two load body options which are High Side Deck and Fixed Side Deck and is also available in multiple load body lengths of 20 ft, 22 ft, 24 ft and 30 ft. 

The truck gets a ladder type frame with riveted/bolted cross members and has a Long member size measuring 250 x 60 x 7. The truck is very capable with and stable as well as smooth to handle thanks to the efficient suspension system made up of Parabolic leaf spring with Hydraulic Double acting Shock Absorbers in the front and Semi elliptical leaf spring with Hydraulic Double acting Shock Absorbers at the rear end. The truck comes with a world class wide Sleeper Cabin which is 45 degree tiltable ensuring easy engine access and seamless maintenance. The truck also gets a conveni footstep for easy entry/exit for both driver and co-driver and the footstep is in sync with body design, curves & arches.

Interior

The Tata T.18 Ultra is not just a modern and new truck in terms of its exterior design and a new engine but also for its new and reinvented cabin which is aesthetically designed with perfect ergonomics to ensure maximum safety and comfort. The wide sleeper cabin offers a lot of space and is very comfortable, perfect for longer journeys. Along with that, the Dash mounted gear level offers room for walk-through in the cabin along with Utility space like a storage box and bottle holder along with other features like a foldable armrest, etc. 

Not just that, the cabin is seriously world class for a truck in this segment getting Melba Fabric for Seats and a D+2 seating configuration. The bucket seat for driver and bench seating for co-passengers makes for optimum comfort and the driver’s seat is also height adjustable with integrated headrest and armrest at the center to reduce driver fatigue during longer journeys and also increase overall driving comfort. 

Along with that, the truck also gets an integrated hydraulic tilt and telescopic power steering with exceptional stability at high speed. Performance

The Tata T.18 Ultra SL is powered by a super capable and responsive NG 5L DICR 5005 cc 4 cylinders BSVI engine with common rail fuel injection system. The truck has a payload capacity of 11.5 tonnes and the super capable engine makes ample power figures of 180 HP@2200 rpm and 590 Nm@1000-2000 rpm for smooth and seamless drives. The engine is paired to a GBS 750 6 speed manual gearbox with cable shift and 352 mm dia clutch that comes with a clutch booster. The top speed is rated at 80 km/h and the truck comes with a 250 litres fuel tank.

Safety

For safety, the truck gets air brakes with ABS as standard and other basic features like seat belts and reverse parking buzzers.
