Tata Motors, a prominent commercial vehicle manufacturer in India, introduces its advanced Turbotronn 2.0 engine. This indigenous powertrain, specifically designed for Tata trucks in the 19 to 42-tonne range, ensures exceptional performance across diverse applications, particularly benefiting the thriving e-commerce, logistics, parcel, and courier sectors.

The new Turbotronn 2.0 engine has been rigorously tested over 30 lakh km and 70,000 cumulative hours across diverse terrains and duty cycles. Fully compliant with the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms, the Turbotronn 2.0 is platform-agnostic and is offered with Signa, Ultra, LPT and cowl platforms with a warranty of 6 years/6 lakh km.

Efficiency At Its Core

As per Tata Motors, the Turbotronn 2.0 powertrain, delivers outstanding fuel efficiency and reliability. It offers multiple states of tune, ranging from 180-204 PS, ensuring a flatter torque curve between 700-850 Nm for superior drivability.  

With longer oil drain and service intervals of 1 lakh km, the Turbotronn 2.0 powertrain also ensures more vehicle uptime to generate higher revenues for businesses.

Rajesh Kaul, vice president and business head – of trucks, Tata Motors, said, “The Turbotronn 2.0 has been developed with extensive inputs from transporters and provides them with an edge in the highly competitive industry. Its superior value proposition makes trucking more seamless, efficient and reliable, resulting in higher revenues and lower costs.”

Turbotronn 2.0 In Action

In a reliability test, Tata Motors initiated a 30-day endurance run with the Tata Ultra T.19, powered by the Turbotronn 2.0 engine. This feat has been aimed at setting the highest standards of durability and efficiency on the Golden Quadrilateral, India's crucial national highway network connecting metros. 

The Tata Ultra T.19 not only completed nine rounds successfully but also secured nine records in both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records. Tata Motors asserts that this remarkable achievement is a testament to the efficiency and reliability of the Turbotronn 2.0 engine.
