Tata Motors, moving towards further improving commercial vehicle service reach and enhancing the customer experience with the ownership of its vehicles, has inaugurated a new vehicle spare parts warehouse in Guwahati, India. The facility is fully digitalised and spans 1 lakh square feet, stocking spare parts for the entire commercial vehicle portfolio.
Tata Motors asserts that the addition of the new facility will enhance the turnaround times and ensure easier availability of spares at Tata Motor’s authorised service stations in the North East.

Leveraging on Delhivery’s, technology-enabled warehousing and transportation solutions, Tata Motors claims that the new Guwahati facility will offer a greater customer value proposition. The facility boasts cutting-edge storage systems catering to diverse needs, including gravity spiral and vertical reciprocating conveyors.
Additionally, a designated area for handling medium and heavy vehicle body parts has been integrated to ensure seamless operations.
Gravity Spiral And Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors
Gravity spiral conveyors are used to move materials downward in a spiral motion. They use the force of gravity to move items along the conveyor for efficient distribution of goods from higher levels to lower levels.
Meanwhile, vertical reciprocating conveyors (VRCs) are used to move materials or goods vertically between different levels of a building or facility for faster turnaround times and efficient distribution.

Vikram Agarwal, head – spares and non-vehicular business, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said, “The new warehouse will enable smarter inventory management at Tata authorised service stations in the region, thereby enhancing service quality and vehicle uptime. This new facility brings us closer to our customers in the fast-progressing region of the North East, making logistics more efficient."

While Tata Motors has inaugurated its new spare parts facility in Guwahati, India – another milestone achievement for the company, it also recently launched its first-in-segment Magic Bi-fuel van, commemorating its success with the Magic van, achieving 4 lakh happy customers since the vehicle’s inception.
As for the Tata Magic Bi-fuel van, it comes with features such as an ‘Eco’ switch, gearshift advisor and enhanced driver ergonomics, aimed at improving driver performance and comfort. Powered by a 694 cc engine with a 60-litre CNG tank and a 5-litre petrol tank, it also offers a combined range of around 380 kilometres on a single fill.
