Ashok Leyland 12-tyre haulage trucks- All You Need Know

The company has introduced two multi-axle heavy-duty haulage trucks in the 35T GVW segment based on the modular AVTR platform for the long-haul transportation needs for a wide range of applications.    

Ashok Leyland, the second largest heavy-duty truck maker, is famous for durable trucks in India. One of the oldest vehicle makers in India, Ashok Leyland trucks are synonymous with the Indian trucking industry. Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland are two undisputed leaders in the domestic market with a combined market share of over 80 percent in the heavy-duty trucks. 

Even though increasing competition in the domestic truck market, both the companies have successfully kept the rivals at bay with a tight hold on the market. Apart from the most recognized and widest truck portfolio, what works in favour of these two players is the extensive service network, 24x7 support and high brand loyalty. 

AVTR Trucks

Taking a fresh look towards its portfolio, Ashok Leyland has revamped its entire heavy-duty truck with the all-new modular AVTR trucks. The company has worked for more than three years to get it's a truck ready along with the new stringent BS6 emission regime. The AVTR based HCVs are now available for the Indian truck buyers with first of its kind modularity that means the choice of customisation of a truck as per the customers business needs. 

Keenly focused on the heavy-duty trucks segment, Ashok Leyland has now introduced completely new AVTR trucks. Covering the essential segments such as multi-axle haulage 19-48T GVW, tipper (19T-42T GVW ) and prime movers (40-55T GVW) categories. The strong presence across all the key MHCV segments makes Ashok Leyland the formidable brand with trucks for every vital application and tonnage points. 

12-Tyre Haulage Trucks 

In the highly important & fast-growing 12-tyre truck haulage segment Ashok Leyland has introduced two new trucks the 3520 Twin Steering and 3520 Lift Axle. As the name suggests, both the trucks are nearly identical with similar configurations other than the axle. 

These 35,000 kgs of gross weight trucks are used for moving heavy cargo across long-haul routes. 3520 is idle for many big ticket cargo needs such as tankers and reefer, and other applications such as market load, cement, food grains, etc. Ashok Leyland is offering this massive haulage truck in the economy, premium, or value cabin as per the truck usage. 

3520 Lift AxleThe 3520 8x2 configuration truck in the lift axle gets the same Ashok Leyland in-house H series 6-cylinder, CRS with iGen-6 technology BS6 engine. It produces the mighty 200HP of power and 700 Nm of torque adequate to take on any challenging terrain. 

Like the rest of the rigid truck range, this truck is available in cowl & chassis, cabin & chassis, full side deck, and high side deck options along with cargo body options in different body lengths for various cargo-carrying needs. For the long interstate trips, it gets day and sleeper cabin options, driver adjustment seats, standard power steering, and the AC options are some other notable comfort features. All the tyres are 295/90R20 - 16 PR size.

3520 Twin SteeringThis twin steering variant of the 35 T truck is a 8x2 configuration also gets the same H series engine and powertrain. To enable a variety of applications, this truck is available in cargo bodies of 24ft, 26ft, 28ft, 30ft and 32 ft in 6600 mm of wheelbase.

This is achieved through a greater combination of powertrain and robust aggregates. Also, another equally important element is the higher tyre mileage, far better reliability and lower maintenance.
