Altigreen And LOHUM Join Hands For Recycling EV Batteries

Modified On Jul 21, 2023 06:31 PMBy Dheeraj Nair

LOHUM will now recycle end-of-life batteries from Altigreen electric vehicles with the help of its patented NEETM recycling technology. Here are the details:

Altigreen and LOHUM, an energy solutions company have joined hands to form a strategic partnership which aims to address the challenges of battery disposal in the commercial-grade electric mobility sector. Under this new partnership, LOHUM will recycle end-of-life batteries that are used in Altigreen electric cargo three-wheelers.

According to LOHUM, the company will use its NEETM battery recycling technology to recover almost 95 percent of battery raw materials which can then be used for the manufacturing of new batteries. Their battery recycling technology is also said to reduce dependency on mining for battery minerals.

Moreover, the partnership between Altigreen and LOHUM will enable LOHUM to recycle about 1 Gigawatt hour (GWh) of Altigreen electric vehicle batteries over the span of the upcoming three years, which will result in the utilisation of resources and bring in a reduction in battery waste.
