Tata Motors launches the Ace Gold BS6

The pioneering last-mile truck in its BS6 avatar comes in diesel, petrol and CNG variants. This beloved ‘Chotta Hathi’ continues its promise of superior mileage, greater pickup, higher payload & convenience, lower maintenance, and significant profits to the owner.

The Ace family of mini-trucks still rules the roots in the small commercial vehicle (SCV) category in India. BS6 Incarnation

Tata Motors now brings its popular truck in its BS6 avatar offering in diesel, petrol and CNG options. First showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 in February in an only petrol variant, the company now launches diesel and CNG variant too.

The Ace Gold has been the first choice of customers for last-mile delivery across urban, semi-urban and rural areas. The BS6 Gold promises all the performance elements of its BS4 predecessor and even goes few notches above.

The customer of this mini-trucks really looks at three key areas- mileage, payload and lower maintenance. Tata Motors hasn’t disappointed on any of these key success attributes of this beloved truck, as making sure that the customers continue to enjoy the benefits of earning higher profit.

The BS6 Ace Gold variants are equipped with the efficient powertrain to meet the stringent emission norms, however, in term so the appearance, look and feel, this Ace hasn’t really changed much. It carries the distinctive appeal of its predecessor with a modern visual appeal with the signature design.

The Ace Gold spans 3800 mm long, 1500 mm wide, and 1842 mm tall, and carries a wheelbase of 2110 mm. The cargo load body measures 2200 mm in length, 1490 mm in width, and 300 mm in height. There is a minor difference in each variant as with the difference in the powertrain. Let's take a look at each variant.

Ace Gold Diesel 

The Ace Gold diesel combines performance, durability and comfort like its predecessor. This diesel variant gets the established 2 cylinder 700CC naturally aspirated DI engine along with gear shift advisor for better fuel efficiency. It gets the 20 HP of power for greater speed and 45Nm of torque for better pickup and acceleration. The gradeability is of 27.5%. The Ace Gold carries 750 kg of payload, with reinforced chassis along with tough front and rear leaf springs suspension for higher stiffness and the axles are enhanced for greater durability.

Equal focus has also been put on the convenience of the driver, Ace Gold comes fitted with digital clusters, big glove box, bottle and document holder and smart USB Charger. To ensure profitable operations of this compact truck, Tata Motors has worked extensively on several aspects of the trucks to keep the maintenance cost in check. The key aggregates in the trucks are now more durable for longer life, besides the spare parts are now readily available along with the commitment of easier service across Tata Motors touchpoints.

Ace Gold Petrol

The petrol variant gets the Tata 275 Gasoline MPFI" BS-6, 4 stroke water-cooled engine, along with gear shift advisor and eco switch for better fuel efficiency. This variant gets 30 HP power and 55 Nm of torque. The top speed is about 70 km for an hour and 30% gradeability helps for better accelerations. Like its diesel sibling, it offers 750 kg of payload. Meanwhile, the aggregates are common between both the variants promising performance and other key attributes.

Ace Gold CNG

The CNG variant of the Ace was launched way back in 2008, and become quite popular. The Ace Gold CNG BS-6 now comes with higher mileage, better pick-up, more payload, more convenience, lower maintenance and higher profits.

The CNG variant gets a water-cooled multi-point gas injection 694 cc CNG engine, it produces 26 HP of power and maximum torque of 50 Nm with 29% of gradeability for superior pickup. The Tata Ace Gold CNG comes with a load body length of 2520 mm (8.2 feet), providing a larger loading area and maximizing profitability. It offers a payload of 640 kg, slightly lower than the petrol and diesel sibling.
