Tata Announces Date for Season 4 of Tata T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship

Tata Motors has announced dates for the 2017 edition of the T1 Truck Racing Championship. The truck races will be held on March 19 this year. This will be the fourth season of truck racing organised by Tata Motors in India.
The CV brand had officially commenced preludes to T1 Truck Racing's current season with the beginning of the T1 Racer Program. The brand, this year, had received more than 1000 applications from people seeking to participate in the truck racing championship. However, only a total of 10 drivers will be chosen to take part in Super part of the T1 truck racing.
The T1 Truck Racing Championship is usually divided in two parts – Pro Class and Super Class. It is professional truck race drivers in six teams competing against each other in the Pro division on the race day. The Super Class, on the other hand, is marked by drivers trained under the T1 Racer Program, racing against each other. Tata had started the truck race driver training program for Indian drivers only last year, during the third edition of T1 Prima Racing.
It is the only truck race driving event being held in India currently. The event is held by Tata Motors, and no other CV manufacturer is allowed to take part in the races. Tata motors uses its Prima range of trucks during the race events. All the trucks are modified for optimum safety and performance. However, Tata is hoping to collaborate with other brands in the future races.
This event is organised under the patronage of FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) and FMSCI (the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India). While FIA is responsible for development of motor sport worldwide, FMSCI is the only national motor sport federation in the country recognized by the Government of India. FMSCI is also associated to the Indian Olympic Association.
