The BharatBenz 3828R is a 38-tonne gross vehicle weight (GVW) truck which is in the heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) segment. This 8x2 drive axle vehicle is capable of transporting steel coils, industrial machinery, auto ancillaries, poultry products, industrial goods, and market loads. Its body is designed with a wheelbase of 5900 mm to offer stability, especially at high speeds.

With a BS6 OBD2 (on-board diagnostic 2) system for monitoring real-time emission levels, the BharatBenz 3828R is equipped with a powerful 7200 cc OM926 6-cylinder diesel engine. Its engine is tuned to deliver 282 hp (210 kW) at 2200 rpm and 1100 Nm at around 1200-1600 rpm. Also, its engine is mated to a 9-speed G131 mechanical synchromesh gearbox for improved transmission efficiency. 

The 3828R can reach a maximum speed of up to 80 kmph while driving at its top gear, ensuring fast turnaround times. In the case of its tanker variants, it gets a maximum geared speed of 60 kmph. The model has a dual-line pneumatic brake to regulate its running speed and an anti-lock braking system (ABS) to prevent its wheels from locking when the brakes are applied, helping to operate on slippery road conditions. 

To distribute the weight of the vehicle evenly between the axles, it also features a semi-elliptical multi-leaf spring in the rear and a parabolic leaf spring with two hydraulic shock absorbers in front. With a 9-speed G131 mechanical synchromesh gearbox, it increases transmission efficiency.
