Man Trucks India has recently launched the CLA EVO heavy commercial vehicle range. Unveiled at the inaugural day of the International Trade Fair BAUMA CONEXPO India 2016, the new CLA EVO 25.300 6x4 BS4 Construction Tipper and the CLA EVO 49.300 6X4 BS4 Tractor Head have been manufactured indigenously in the auto maker’s Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh. The new vehicles have been rolled out to mark MAN Truck’s 10th year in the Indian market.
Both CLA EVO 25.300(6x4) tipper and CLA EVO 49.300(6x4) tractor head are BS-IV compliant and are equipped with the D-0836 turbocharged engine. The engine generates 300 hp power and is coupled with a 9-speed gearbox, making these heavy commercial vehicles more fuel efficient.
The introduction of the CLA EVO series is a significant milestone for the truck manufacturer, according to Joerg Mommertz, Chairman and Managing Director of MAN Trucks India. “These vehicles are equipped with 300HP powerful and proven MAN D-0836 common rail engines complying to BS-IV emission norms. The 300HP engine with a well configured driveline offers best in class fuel efficiency,” he added.
He also predicted that the vehicle utilization will increase significantly after the implementation of GST. Talking about the safety aspect of these vehicles, Mr. Mommertz said, “The CLA EVO range of vehicles with twin head lamps and day time running lamps will offer utmost safety on Highways as well as in off road applications.”
MAN Trucks India had started its operations in 2006 and has significantly grown since the past decade. The auto maker currently manufactures heavy duty MAN CLA Trucks for the Indian market and for exporting to Asian, African and CIS countries. The company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pithampura has a production capacity of 24,000 trucks per year.
