Indian Drivers Trained Under TRP 2.0 to Compete in Prima Truck Racing

Tata TRP 2.0 is about to conclude as 33 truck drivers from India have qualified for the semi-final bout of the program. TRP is Tata Motors' initiative for training ordinary truck drivers and transforming them into qualified truck race drivers.
T1 Prima Truck Racing, scheduled to take place on March 19, 2017 will witness 20 of these 33 truck drivers burn asphalt on the Buddha International Circuit located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
These 33 selected truck drivers include ones from the first edition of TRP program as well. Ten of these drivers will race and test their skills during the T1 Champions Class Category truck racing. Truck drivers, inducted under TRP 2.0, will compete in the T1 truck racing Super Class category. Tata T1 Prima Truck Racing is usually divided into two categories - Super and Champions.
Truck drivers including Nagarjuna from Andhra Pradesh and Jagat Singh from Haryana, with their breath-taking racing skills, had shown the true worth of TRP program during the 3rd season of T1 Prima Truck Racing held last year on the same circuit. Jagat Singh, Nagarjuna and other drivers were trained by top class race instructors roped in India by MOMA (Motorsport Management).
The current season of Tata T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship will also see professional truck racers from FIA's European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) participating in the event. This will be the first time that six racers from the rest of the Europe will be representing ETRC in India’s only truck racing event.
Second edition of the TRP program had received over 1000 applications from different individuals seeking to be qualified race truck drivers. Tata Prima T1 Truck Race Championship is the only truck racing event in India. The present season of this racing event is slated to take place on March 19, 2017 at the Buddha International Circuit located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
