Highest-Ever Automotive Retail Sale Recorded in November 2022

The overall growth of 26%, the commercial vehicle jumps 33% in the month, three-wheeler up 80%
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) releases Vehicle Retail Data for November’22, and it is positive news for automotive brands as the retail touches record highs in the month after continuous improvement month on month across all the vehicle categories.
Auto Retail in November’22 saw an overall growth of 26% to a total volume of 23,80,465. All categories were in the green with 2W (18,47,708 units), 3W (74,473 units), PV (3,00,922 units), Tractor(77,993 units), and CV (79,369 units) growing by 24%, 80%, 21%, 57%, and 33% respectively. Even when compared to the pre-covid month of 2019, overall retails for the second consecutive month closed in green by growing 1.5%. Except for 2W, which saw a marginal dip of -0.9%, all the other categories like 3W, PV, Tractor, and CV grew by 4%, 5%, 61%, and 6% respectively.
Trucks Sales Zooms
The overall commercial vehicle sector has witnessed a growth of 33% YoY with a total retail volume of 79,369 units and 6% compared to 2019. With the Government's continued focus on the infrastructure space and new mining projects, replacement demand continued to pour in along with healthy inter-state passenger movement enabling bus sales. All top truck brands witness steady growth in their retail sales, indicating a strong demand for trucks across all categories.
Auto-Rickshaw In Demand
The 3W segment showed a massive growth of 80% YoY with a total retail volume of 74,473 and 4% when compared to 2019, a pre-covid year. The category which was witnessing low demand during covid has now emerged as the highest growing category due to positive sentiments and fear of lockdowns out of mind. Also, electrification in the category continues at its highest pace.
