The total domestic wholesale is down by 3%, as small commercial vehicle and pickup demand slows
Commercial vehicle market leader in India, Tata Motors has reported a wholesale of 27,430 units in the domestic market, which is down 3% from November 2021.
While the medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCVs), the trucks 19-tonne and above categories continue to witness a higher uptick in the month. The sluggish demand for Intermediate, small commercial vehicles (ILCV & SCVs) and pickup has pushed the sale into negative territory for the company.
The M&HCV sales were up by 42% to 8,879 units, while the I&LCV was down by 32% to 3,462 units. The small commercial vehicles and pickups, the largest category in terms of volumes, reported a drop of 17% to 13,048 units. The Passenger carrier segment wholesale jumped by 73% to 2,041 units. Tata Motors exported over 1,6 23 units to overseas markets in the month, which slipped by 59%.
