Engine and Performance

The Mahindra Bolero Camper Gold is equipped with an MDI 3200 turbocharged direct injection BS-IV compliant engine. It has a capacity of 2.6-litre and is capable of making a maximum power of 63 bhp, along with a peak torque of 195 Nm. Both the maximum power and torque come at 3,200 rpm and 1,500 rpm respectively. The power is channelled to the wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox with the help of single plate dry clutch.

The engine is quite capable of delivering a good performance. It returns around 14 kmpl mileage and provides an overall driving range of around 800 km.

Vehicle Built and Load Capacity

The Mahindra Bolero Camper Gold comes with a deck body. A day cabin sits on the chassis. It has an overall length of 5,030 mm, while the width and height are 1,670 mm and 1,885 mm respectively. It comes with a decent wheelbase of 3,014 mm, which improves the stability while carrying heavy load. The vehicle gets 185 mm of ground clearance, which makes it very clear that driving in a bit off-road conditions will not be harmful for the truck.

The gross vehicle weight (GVW) of the vehicle is 2,510 kg, out of which, the kerb weight is 1,800 kg while the payload capacity stands at 710 kg. This means, the vehicle is capable of medium goods transportation duties.

Handling and Suspension

The power steering makes the handling a lot easier as taking turns in congested streets will not be a major issue and driving in the busy traffic conditions regularly will not be a major problem. So, taking a U-turn in cities or short lanes will be a little difficult for the driver.

Speaking of its suspension, up front is the Ifs with anti roll bar and shock absorbers, while the rear gets the rigid with anti roll bar and shock absorbers. Both of the suspension unit are pretty decent and provide a comfortable drive in the highways as well as the off roads.

Braking and Safety

The truck gets a pretty decent braking setup which makes driving in the busy traffic or speeding up in the highways harmless. The vehicle comes with disc brakes that make for a good stopping power and is better in that department than some of its competitors.

All though ABS is not included in the spec-list, without it the brakes manage to perform well. Inside the D+1 cabin, the pickup truck comes with seat-belts for both the driver as well as co-driver. Also, the truck gets Headlamp Beam Adjuster, which means drivers can adjust the headlight according to their convenience.
