The truck makers will help dealers and their staff in vaccination reimbursement, insurance, salary support, technician incentives, and fast-tracking of claims, among other things.

To ensure the sustainability of its dealers community across India, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the maker of BharatBenz trucks today announces several measures to help dealer partners and staff to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. As the fresh lockdown across India has brought the transport and logistics sector to a standstill. Due to severe lockdown across key states have halved new truck sales, thus adversely impacting the sales and service business of dealers.

BharatBenz support package focuses on financial and medical benefits (vaccination, insurance, incentives) for the dealership workforce, as well as assistance measures for dealerships’ business sustainability. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, DICV has proactively offered various relief and support measures to safeguard its employees, dealers, partners, and the entire BharatBenz community.

The new support package increases the assistance offered to dealerships to include 2 Lakh COVID Group insurance, 20 Days credit for in-stock vehicles, fast-tracking of pending claims, and complete salary support. DICV is also extending aid to frontline employees with INR 1 Lakh COVID medical insurance, free vaccinations, and gift coupons for technicians.

Rajaram Krishnamurthy, Vice President Marketing, Sales, and Customer Services, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, said, ”DICV is committed to looking after the BharatBenz community; We take care of our customers, partners and employees with practical, effective support. This package has been specifically created for our dealer partners to address the two most critical needs of the hour - financial and medical assistance.”

Vaccination Centre

DICV is providing vaccination support to all employees India-wide and has even opened a vaccination centre at its plant in Oragadam which services not only employees but also members of the local community. DICV offers free vaccination to truck drivers of all brands visiting the facility.

Last week, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the Vaccination Centre at the Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) manufacturing plant in Oragadam that marks the official start of COVID-19 vaccinations for Tamil Nadu automotive industry workers aged 18-44. DICV has already inoculated almost all employees aged 45 and over, this facility will allow the vaccination drive to be further expanded to the local community, including those under 45.

With its modern infrastructure including five vaccination booths, the facility can process up to 250 people a day. Operational every week Monday to Saturday, 9:30 to 17:00, the Centre also has a refreshments area, a post-vaccination lounge, and socially distanced seating capacity for up to 300 people. The company will continue offering the facility as a vaccination centre for as long as necessary.
