Tata LPT 1615 BS-IV

December 29, 2019: The Tata LPT 1615 is the more powerful and bigger sibling of the Tata LPT 1613 and is created for haulage of loads with extra power on tap. The maximum permissible GVW of the Tata LPT 1615 is 16200kg and kerb weight of 4390kg and a maximum legal payload rating of 11810kg. It has a maximum permissible FAW of 6000kg and a maximum permissible RAW of 10200kg.

It is available in three possible vehicle configurations - Face Cowl & Chassis, Cabin & Chassis and Cabin with load body options. The load body options are offered in three choices - Fixed Side Deck, High Side Deck, and Drop Side Deck. The loading span is also available in three different lengths - 18 ft, 24 ft, and 32 ft, respectively. Furthermore, the Tata LPT 1615 is offered in a choice of three different wheelbase lengths - 4225 mm, 5195 mm and 6800 mm.

Powering the Tata LPT 1615 is the company’s more powerful BS-IV compliant 6 cylinder 5883cc Tata Cummins ISBe 5.9 160 diesel engine. The engine produces a maximum power output of 159bhp made at 2400rpm while the peak torque rating of 600Nm arrives in the low rpm range of just 1200-1800rpm. The transmission duties are taken care by the Tata GBS 600 6-Speed manual gearbox mated to a 352mm organic single dry plate clutch. The top speed is limited to 80kmph and the Tata LPT 1615 offers a Gradeability of 29%. The fuel tank capacity of 22 5liters (300 liters for 6800mm wheelbase version).
