SML Isuzu Prestige GS Truck- Expert Review
Expert Review – SML ISUZU PRESTIGE BS-IV 3335
Available in BS-IV version, SML ISUZU PRESTIGE 3335 is a fully built light haulage truck, used for carrying white goods. The truck is best known for transportation of loads like large electrical goods used domestically such as refrigerators, washing machines and stoves across comparatively shorter distances to be supplied primarily from factories and warehouses to showrooms and seller’s points.
With a displacement of 3455 cc it is known to produce higher pickup, better torque at lower RPM, good gradeability and fuel efficiency – essentially for a vehicle of this size and weight carrying requirement. Besides, this truck is best example of putting drivers at ease of crossing narrow passages and twisty turns that are highly seen in busy Indian city roads. Above all, you can expect SML ISUZU PRESTIGE 3335 to deliver you operational ease with easy availability of spare parts and lower running cost, making the vehicle the first choice among distributors and vendors.
Engine & Displacement: SLT4 Numeral Diesel Turbocharger with Intercooler, 3455 cc
Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW): 6440 kg
Wheelbase & Turning Radius: 3335 mm, 3200 mm
Engine and Performance
SML ISUZU PRESTIGE 3335 is fitted with SLT3 & Numeral, DI Turbocharged Intercooled engine with in-line four Cylinder Common Rail Direct Injection. Max power of the truck is estimated at 101 bhp @ 3000 rpm and it can be torqued at a decent score of 270 Nm @ 1750-2000 rpm. The vehicle has 5 speed gearbox with manual transmission with a 260 mm diameter Single plate diaphragm type clutch. Further, the 90 Litres fuel tank allows you to drive long distances without caring of refueling. The gradeability of 25% is really nice for climbing difficult heights and uneven turfs. Considering all these points and numbers together, it could be kept in the category of well-thought-of trucks performance-wise.
Vehicle Built and Load Capacity
SML ISUZU PRESTIGE 3335 is available in Half Deck, High Deck, Cabin Chassis variants. The dimensions include Load body Length of 3740 mm, Load body Width of 2080 mm and Load body Height of 1695 mm. The overall length of vehicle is 5454 mm with overall width of 2200 mm and an overall height of 2070 mm. This comes as a pretty decent size for carrying white payloads upto 3580 kg with a GVW of 6440 Kg. The best part being all that is quite comprehensively structured for carrying the load right.
Handling and Suspension
You get a good handling support with the steering with variable gear ratio – with an option to have it with a power steering. Semi elliptical leaf springs suspension at the front and Semi elliptical leaf springs suspension at the rear are quite capable of making the truck swing and move quite in a balanced mode, without offering a strange jerk or shake. Turning Radius of 3200 mm is decent enough for avoiding risks at steep turns, making it really a thing to be handled with ease.
Braking and Safety
SML ISUZU PRESTIGE 3335 comes with Hydraulic Vacuum Assisted brakes. This makes the vehicle work smoothly across different road conditions without a trouble. Box Type Cassis with Tubular Cross Members provide better strength and rigidity allowing safety against different drive situations.
