Pro 5028 Highlights

January 16, 2020: Over the last few years, Eicher has made significant progress in getting into the most critical as well as profitable M&HCV segment in India. The M&HCV segment largely dominated by Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland has now got a serious competitor with Eicher heavy-duty trucks with Volvo’s global modern technologies. Eicher now has the entire range of heavy-duty trucks, tippers, and a tractor-trailer.

The Pro 5028 is a 28-ton GVW truck that gets a trustworthy 144 Kw E694 5.7 liter CRS engine with i3 EGR technology. The target targeted at long-range haulage application comes with features including engine protection system, driver information systems, fuel coaching, and cruise control, Pro 5028 delivers high reliability and improved driver productivity. Its rigorously tested driveline and optimized FDR makes it ideal for its payload class.

The Pro 5028 comes with a maximum power of 192 HP @ 2400 RPM and maximum torque of 715 Nm @ 1200-1800 RPM along with a gearbox of ET9OS6 with 6 forward & 1 reverse gear. The clutch is a hydraulically actuated push type with the clutch booster and 395mm dia. Considering the rigorous operating condition, the Pro 5028 gets C channel ladder-type frame with 285 X 76 X 6 mm, the front axles are reverse Elliot, 'I' beam and rear axle come with heavy- heavy-duty fully floating. The front suspension is semi-elliptical laminated leaf springs, rear semi-elliptical laminated leaf springs with bell crank mechanism. The steering is tilt and telescopic hydraulic power steering. The Eicher Pro 5028 gradeability of 22% and the fuel tank is sizable 395 liters.
