Market leader Tata Motors unveiled the popular BSVI pickup which now comes with a much bigger engine, more loading space and modern interior!
Truck makers are ready with their BSVI truck portfolio much ahead of the deadline for the new emission regime to take off on April 1st, 2020. While the trucks are ready for commercial launch, OEMs want the BSVI diesel to be available across the country before, they start retailing the trucks. The commercial launch likely to take place sooner than later, as we already reported that Ashok Leyland started delivering BSVI trucks to customers in NCR. BharatBenz also unveils its BSVI truck range and confirmed that the retail sale has commenced in the select markets. The BSVI diesel will be available across the country by April 1st and truck makers are getting their retail product strategies in place.
Tata Motors has revealed its BSVI truck portfolio at the Auto Expo 2020 earlier this month. The company has showcased a range of BSVI trucks, including the facelift heavy-duty Prima truck. Today, we take a detailed look at the company’s BSVI Yodha pickup single cab, which the company displayed at the auto show.
Tata Motors is promising more with the all-new Yodha; the pickup comes with new exciting colors, an all-new higher power engine and additional features with a higher payload of 1700 kg. Some of the Yodha BSVI features includes fuel economy switch and gear shift advisor, wider and bigger load body L-2650 mm (8.7 ft) x W-1850 mm (6 ft), flat lay down seats with headrest, tiltable power steering, mobile charger, magazine pouch with bottle holder, sliding window and high ground clearance of 210 mm.
The Yodha now comes with all new 2.2.-liter DI, 4-cylinder BSVI diesel engine. This new engine delivers 73.6 kW (100 HP) power and 250 Nm of torque, which the company says is the best in its class.
Yodha single cab variants come with 3 distinct payload points of 1700, 1500 and 1200 kg. With Single Cab, Crew Cab, 4x4 and 4x2 variants. The high ground clearance of 210 mm enables Tata Yodha to navigate through varied terrains with ease. The large cargo box of dimensions – L-2650 mm (8.7 ft) x W-1850 mm (6 ft) ensures Tata Yodha carries large & heavy loads effortlessly. The company claims Yodha performs better even in the overload segment of the pickup market.
