Volvo to Showcase Four Truck Models at 2016 Tip-Ex Show

Swedish truck maker Volvo, is apparently planning to showcase four of its truck models at the upcoming annual Tip-Ex Show in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The event is scheduled to happen from June 2 to 4, 2016.
As per the reports, Volvo will display two of its trucks at its stand in Hall B, while the other two trucks will be put on display at the bodybuilder's stand. The company is yet to confirm the details in this regard. Out of four Volvo trucks, three of them are said to be four-axle chassis based tippers. Reports claim that these vehicles are built with a long 5100 mm wheelbase and are designed specifically for multi-axle tipper operations.
Volvo FMX is one of the three trucks that comes fitted with a Thomson steel body. The Volvo FMX sleeper-cab version is equipped with the 13-litre, D13K540 engine that unleashes 540 hp of maximum power.
The remaining two are based on Volvo FM platform, which features a lightweight aluminum body designed by Wilcox and PPG respectively. The aluminum bodied truck designed by Wilcox is suitable for NG3 off-road operations, while the one with PPG alloy body is intended for N3 on-road applications. Both these versions from Volvo are powered by a fuel efficient and payload-friendly 11-litre D11450 engine. This engine pumps out 450 hp of maximum power.
The fourth truck to be put on display is the Volvo Globetrotter XL-cabbed FH 6x2 tractor unit. This vehicle features an advanced air suspension on all three axles and comes fitted with a D13K540 engine under the hood. This power plant produces a power of 540 hp, which is channeled to the wheels through a 12-speed AT2612E I shift transmission. This high-specification truck has several advanced safety features including an Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Safety Plus, Electronic Stability Program, Visibility Package and Forward Collision Warning.
