VECV Launches Multi-Axle Eicher Pro 6037 Truck

Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) India has launched the much awaited heavy truck, Eicher Pro 6037, which was made public at the Auto Expo 2016. This multi axle vehicle would be challenging Ashok Leyland’s reign in the sub-37-tonne category as the company currently holds 75% market share in the segment. It is also notable that the sub-37-tonne weight category has jumped by a staggering 139% in terms of sales in FY2015-16. The total units sold in last fiscal year were 11,655 as compared to 4,874 units in FY 2014-15.
Powered by the brand’s trusted VEDX 5.0 Litre 4-Cylinder motor, Pro 6037 churns out 210 bhp power and a humongous 825 Nm torque when operated in the power mode. The numbers get down to 160 bhp power and 560 Nm torque when operated in the eco mode, however, the mileage gets improved. The truck is also equipped with various contemporary features including M (Mileage) Booster, EMS 3.0, cruise control, real time fuel coaching and trip management service, latest Eicher Drive telematics, Eicher Live and more for better fuel economy and low maintenance as well as better operating cost.
Commenting at the launch event which was held at New Delhi, Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, CEO, VECV, said, “The heavy duty sector is expected to touch a new peak in the current year with huge growth in the segment based on both replacements as well as additional truck requirements with a massive focus on infrastructure and core sectors in the economy. With our entry into the fastest growing 37-tonne segment, our position in the HD segment will strengthen and we will consistently grow our market share in HD segment from a current market share of around 5%.”
