Tata Motors Eyes Rank Among Top Three Global CV Makers

India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors, has set its eyes on one of the three top spots in global CV makers list. In the domestic market, the company has also set a target to be one among the top three passenger commercial vehicle manufacturers by 2019. These new targets have been set under the “Futuready” program, as per the new vision statement announced by the company.
Mr. Guenter Butschek, the new CEO and MD of Tata Motors is pretty confident about achieving the highly ambitious target. “We have envisioned our growth plan for the next three years, till 2019. We have set ambitious goals which could be attained if we truly optimise our capabilities and achieve the desired results during each of the intermediate financial year,” he said. Mr. Butschek also holds the top position in various international market namely Thailand, South Korea, South Africa and Indonesia.
The newly launched Futuready program will also focus on achieving sustainability in finance section and will try to innovate more in this segment. Soon after joining Tata Motors as CEO in January this year, Mr. Butsckek showed his enthusiasm towards moving the company to new heights. He said, “To make the company future-ready, we need to consistently evaluate ourselves with the global benchmarks, because we would not be satisfied with the Indian benchmark. We would like to have a global footprint and this is largely possible with the pipeline of new products that have been put in place.”
Considering the current market scenarios, Tata Motors comes among the top ten commercial vehicle makers in the world. In India, however, it has lost its top place to Mahindra in small commercial vehicle segment.
