Tata Ace XL brochure leaked ahead of Launch

The new Tata Ace XL has been revealed through a leaked brochure and it seems the launch is imminent. The only detail uncovered as of now is the increased loading deck length that has been enlarged to 2,520mm, 320mm lengthier than the standard Tata Ace. The vehicle will now come with the overall length of under 4.1m while the height and width is expected to be the same i.e. 1,861mm and 1,500mm respectively.

Tata Motors will also launch Tata Ace Zip XL and Tata Ace Mega XL to strengthen the Ace family. The Ace XL will be powered by tried and tested 798cc DICOR diesel engine. The BS-IV compliant motor can produce 40.2bhp @3,750 rpm and 100Nm of torque @1700-2000 rpm. The engine when mated to 5-speed manual gearbox can help the vehicle attain a top speed of 90kmph. Like its siblings, the new Tata Ace XL is expected to be par on fuel efficiency as well. Here's a quick snapshot of its specifications from the brochure:

In terms of comfort, Ace XL would probably get the same set of features as in other models of the family including digital clock, adjustable driver seat, mobile charger, power windows and navigation system. It would also get safety features like tubeless tyres and anti-lock braking system to name a few.

Price of Tata Ace XL is likely to be a little high than its sibling Ace DICOR, which is priced at INR 4.27 lakh (ex-showroom). With 2 years/72,000 km of standard warranty, the new model of Ace family is expected to repeat the same sensation that has been done in the past by other models. Tata Ace currently competes with Mahindra Jeeto in the category, although it presently holds majority of shares in the segment.
