SIAM anticipates the Auto Expo to boost auto industry sentiment

The 15th edition of the biennial show scheduled to open at Greater Noida between 7-12 February will see 70 unveils and product launches across various categories, besides companies showcasing their readiness for the BSVI emission regime. Industry body SIAM expects the Auto Expo will likely witness the industry’s sentiment turning positive by rekindling consumer interest in new vehicles.
Amidst the sustained slowdown in the domestic automotive industry, the Society of Indian Automotive Manufacturers (SIAM) is geared up to host the Auto Expo 2020- the biggest biannual gala show of the Indian automotive industry between February 7-12, 2020 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.
Like the past editions, Auto Expo-The Motor Show 2020 will see a host of new product launches and some global unveiling of products. The theme of the 2020 show is ‘Explore the World of Mobility’ with the Industry’s vision and message to the world of technology and its capabilities for safer, cleaner and connected, bespoke and shared mobility for the future. The domestic Truck makers including Tata Motors and Mahindra Trucks and Buses will be the prominent OEMs participating in the Expo. Both companies are likely to showcase their BSVI trucks range-including LCV, ILCV and HCVs at the show. Also, commercial vehicle manufacturers Force Motors, SML Isuzu, Olectra, JBM Auto are also participating in the show.
The rapidly changing automobile industry with new technologies and several disruptive new areas of innovation is going to dominate the show. The visitors to this year’s expo will offer a 360 view of the mobility ecosystem with newer and enhanced solutions for the near future.
FOCUS ON EMISSION AND SAFETY
Auto Expo-The Motor Show 2020 will witness a focus on new emission technology products and vehicles with more stringent safety standards under one roof. The vehicle manufacturers now almost ready and gearing up for the commercial launch of their BS-VI products in the next couple of months will show their preparedness and BS-VI products at the show.
According to SIAM, the Motor Show 2020 will not just be a futuristic perspective of the Indian auto industry but also would showcase the Indian automotive Industry’s preparedness to adapt to the BSVI norms. The 2020 show will witness the complete transformation of vehicles meeting BSVI emission norms ahead of the government set deadline for compliance.
Another notable area of the 2020 Motor Show is the entry of new players and the overwhelming participation of the start-up's ecosystems to showcase new, innovative and disruptive technologies including alternative fuel vehicles.
Speaking on the 2020 Motor Show, Rajesh Menon, Director General, SIAM said, “ This year at Auto Expo, the industry together will put the best efforts to give a new dimension and feel to the visitors, enabling them to explore the world of mobility. The 15th edition of the auto show will be one of the cleanest and greenest expo ever with a wide range of clean and green vehicles. There is already a lot of anticipation and excitement around the upcoming auto expo.”
Besides static displays of products, the Auto Expo 2020 will also provide a truly unique and inspiring experience for all the visitors. The expo has 6 thematic days to enhance and enrich the visitor's experience; this includes Enterprise Day, Goodwill Day, Family Day, Women Power Day, Green Day and Driving Experience Day.
The Auto Expo-The Motor Show 2020 will spread in a total area of 2.35,000 sq. mtrs with key domestic and overseas automobile brands participating in a gross indoor built-up area of 51,000 sq. mtrs.
The Auto Expo Motor Show 2020 is organized by SIAM with support from the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and CII will attract local and overseas visitors like any global auto show.
