Renault Trucks Aspires Further Growth in 2016

Published On Feb 12, 2016By Prashant Talreja

Post an excellent performance in the commercial vehicle market last year, Renault Trucks is now aspiring to increase customer confidence in the brand, besides building on huge volume gains in the coming days.

As per reports, the company has witnessed about 27.1 percent rise in truck registrations above 6 tonne GVW in the previous year against 2014. This rise is quite promising for the CV market and Renault Trucks as well, as the latter observed a hike in shares from 3.3% to 5.6% in 2015.

Speaking on this development, Nigel Butler, the Commercial Director at Renault Trucks, said, “We are expecting further market share improvements with the launch of our new, lighter 7.5 tonne product later this year.”

“It has been good to see our volumes increasing at twice the rate of the market in trucks and five times the rate in an LCV market which saw van registrations up 15.6% year on year in 2015,” he commented.

Butler further added, “Looking to the year ahead, we expect some slight softening of heavy truck registrations but this may be offset by further recovery in the medium duty sector.”

“We see LCV continuing to grow but at a reduced pace, possibly affected by the change to Euro-6 which will no doubt add some unusual seasonality to registrations this year with the September switch over,” he said.

Renault Trucks observed a growth in its reputation through its performance and strong dealer network which made 2015 a success year for the company. The dealerships with Sparks commercials and Thompson Commercials with £ 1.5m investment has developed a strong base. In addition to this, the company has observed a rise of 59 percent in registrations supplied with a full Repair & Maintenance contract.

Commenting on these developments, Nigel Butler said, “Over the last year we have welcomed many new customers who are increasingly putting their trust in our network to maintain their vehicles and fleet compliance. We look forward to welcoming many more in 2016,” he added.
