Piaggio Ape HT range of auto-rickshaws: All you need to know

The all-new Ape HT range is available in both the cargo & passenger segments with 300cc petrol & CNG engines for a powerful performance. For the first time, Indian 3W in the alternative fuel engines are now equipped with higher capacity engines to serve the growing needs of customers. Expanding its three-wheeler range across the passenger and cargo carrier segment to further strengthen its position in the alternative fuel segment, Piaggio Vehicle the leading player today introduced an all-new Ape HT (High Tech) range of auto-rickshaws that are powered by a new 300 CC engines in petrol and CNG fuel options.

The new auto range includes the Petrol cargo - Ape Xtra HT, CNG cargo - Ape Xtra HT LDX and Ape Xtra HT LDX+ CNG passenger - Ape Auto HT DX, Ape Auto HT DXL and Ape Auto+ HT.

Major Highlights

The key aspect of the new Ape’ HT range is the higher-powered 300cc water-cooled engine, and the new range is targeted at the High-Tech experience of alternate fuel buyer who need more power and torque from their cargo or passenger carrier operations.

Piaggio says the new range is extremely comfortable to drive with lower noise and vibration for today’s dynamic urban last-mile mobility solutions. Moreover, the Ape’ HT range is designed to give maximum load-ability with higher power & torque for a smoother ride with low NVH through its FI smart engine. For the first time, Piaggio has developed the new 300 cc engine in India with technical support from Piaggio Italy and being manufactured locally. The higher torque & gradability enables customers to take on flyovers effortlessly unlike the earlier generation alternative fuel engines vehicles that often needed more power.

Multiple Benefits

At present, Piaggio is the only player to offer a petrol variant in the 3W cargo segment. The petrol cargo offers a substantial acquisition cost-benefit for the price-sensitive customer. Piaggio is also planning to introduce a passenger variant, Ape’ Auto HT Petrol in the coming months. The Ape’ HT CNG range offers tremendous earning potential to customers with the combination of a higher power, bigger loading deck and higher cargo carrying capacities, superior mileage and lower running and maintenance costs.

The vehicles are equipped with a new aluminium clutch which offers a comfortable driving experience and a long life of 30,000 km. The cargo range is available in 3 variants with 5.0 ft, 5.5 ft and 6.0 ft deck length options for varied load requirements and usages. Ape’ HT range comes with a class-leading warranty of 5 years/1.5 lac kms (whichever is earlier) in the Petrol cargo and 36 months/1 lac kms (whichever is earlier) in the CNG passenger and cargo variants. To ensure a peaceful ownership experience, Piaggio is also providing a special AMC package - Super Saver with 6 free periodic maintenance services.
