Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Commercial Vehicles Sales Up by 5.5%

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia registered a marginal growth of 5.5% in commercial vehicle segment. The firm has delivered 2623 commercial vehicle units in the year 2015. These include 193 Mercedes-Benz trucks and 2430 Fuso trucks. This growth in sales helped the company to extend its share in Asian and European truck markets.
The year 2015 also marked the production of 25000th unit for Mercedes in Malaysia.
Albert Yee, vice-president, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia commercial vehicles, said “Amid challenging market conditions, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia commercial vehicles has increased sales [and] market share, launched a new truck series, and simultaneously achieved significant milestones at our Pekan production plant”. Yee further expressed optimism about continuing the company's success spree in Malaysia.
In the year 2015, Merc's passenger vehicle arm has witnessed a rise of 56 % in its overall sales. While its commercial vehicle arm has extended the FUSO product portfolio by launching FM and FN series variants in the lineup. These two variants were put on offer with new features including the automatic braking system.
