Published On Apr 28, 2016By Tushar Vijay

The highly anticipated pickup from Mahindra is out with a gripping blend of features, essentially the best-in-class in the segment, with the Big Bolero Pik-up. Competitively priced at INR 6.15 lakh (BSIII ex-showroom Pune) and INR 6.30 lakh (BSIV ex-showroom Pune), the vehicle comes with a class-leading cargo body length of 9 feet (2765 mm) – which marks the top feature of the truck.

Rolling that out well, the tough and rugged pickup truck offers a larger wheelbase to have a better hold on surface while carrying more weights. Available in two payload categories – 1,250 kg and 1,500 kg, Big Bolero Pik-up certainly offers more scope in terms of loading options.

Talking of the performance, the vehicle comes fitted with Mahindra’s 2.5 Litre 4 cylinder MDI turbocharged engine that offers 46.3 KW (63 HP) of Power and 195 Nm of Torque for the BSIII variant and 52.2 KW (70 HP) of Power and 195 Nm of Torque for the BSIV variant – which is on a higher side in the segment. Further, the four-wheel drive variant further allows you to reach better at hilly and muddy terrains. The truck comes with Engine Immobilizer for BSIV Variant which adds to its safety standards. What makes it more impressive to own is the 3 years unlimited kilometre warranty on engine and driveline for BSIII variant.

The vehicle brilliantly addresses the ergonomics and driving comfort, doling out a spacious cabin, sliding & reclining seats and power steering across all variants. Designed with premium interiors and a new instrument panel, Big Bolero comes with a newer color theme. What makes it even better is corrosion resistant paint-finish, trendy dual-tone interiors and a better cabin detailing. The ‘Big’ thing about it is certainly the more weight carrying capacity which practically translates into lesser trips and more earning potential. Better numbers bring better perspective to vehicle utility. As they claim, availability of the parts are easy, which makes it easy-to-maintain. A bigger size and more load carrying capacity allows the pickup to be used in heavier application-types like refrigeration van, livestock hauler, generator van and FMCG carrier.
