Auto Expo 2018 could very well be lauded as the gateway to the future of automotive industry. The exhibition is the ideal platform for automotive pioneers to showcase their latest and greatest technology. Aside from the regular stable of exciting cars and motorcycles, a special attraction at this event would be a futuristic take on commercial vehicles at the Mahindra Truck and Bus (MTB) stall. Here’s what to expect from Mahindra Truck and Bus at the Auto Expo:

1. BLAZO 49- India’s First Smart Truck:

Mahindra Truck and Bus launched its HCV range of BLAZO Trucks in February, 2016 and since then, around 10,000 units have been sold. This was Mahindra’s first take on Smart Trucks. The trucks look contemporary, not just on the outside but also on the inside, and, for the first time ever in the CV industry, come with Mileage, Service and Spares availability guarantee. They come equipped with FuelSmart Technology for better fuel efficiency, Digisense for better info (tracking, trip efficiency, fuel efficiency etc.) and a host of safety features. And now, Mahindra Truck and Bus is planning to display a ‘Smarter Version’ of this series at the Auto Expo 2018.

With the focus towards ramping up safety and convenience for drivers and fleet owner, Mahindra has loaded the BLAZO Smart Truck with many advanced features aimed at improving the overall driving experience.

These features are:

• Reverse Camera with Ultrasonic Reverse Parking Sensors
• Forward Collision Warning
• Hill-Start Assist
• Auto-Dip Beam
• Heads-up Display
• Tyre Pressure Management System
• Rain and Light Sensors

Apart from a gamut of safety features, the BLAZO 49 Smart Truck will also come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and a sunroof.

2. Mahindra eCOSMO Electric Bus

Given the alarming atmospheric conditions and ever increasing pollution, eco-friendly means of transportation have become the need of the hour. This has been reinforced by the Indian government’s plan of transitioning to all-electric mobility by 2030.

Mahindra, being a key player in the EV segment, has realized the importance of cleaner means of mass transit and is one of the few automakers to make a move in this direction.

Putting into use its extensive experience of over two decades in making electric motors and cars (Reva and e2oPlus), Mahindra Truck and Bus will be displaying its electric bus-eCOSMO, at the Auto Expo 2018.

This is going to be a Direct-Drive electric motor, hence no gearbox. With a long-life lithium-ion battery, this is sure to be a game changer.

3. Click a Photo with Ajay Devgn*

Now the part that you have been waiting for. This is definitely going to be the star attraction at MTB stall. People visiting the stall would get a chance to take a photo with Ajay Devgn, albeit virtually. Making smart use of Augmented Reality, Mahindra Truck and Bus stall would have a 3D Hologram of Ajay Devgn. Needless to say, fans can click photos with the superstar.
