Published On Jun 15, 2016
Mahindra Truck and Bus Division (MTBD) recently launched its much queried-after heavy duty truck, Blazo, in Kolkata. The regional launch marks Blazo’s entry to the whole of eastern India. By introducing the Blazo range in this region, Mahindra aims to double its current market share of 4.5 percent for heavy commercial vehicles in East India over the next two years.
During the launch event, Mr. Nalin Mehta, CEO of Mahindra Truck and Bus Division said that although Mahindra has been in the HCV segment only since the past three years, the company’s truck and bus division has been growing steadily and is benefitting from the buoyancy in the heavy commercial vehicle segment. He also believed that the new Blazo range will help enhance Mahindra’s position further in the commercial vehicle market.
With a price ranging from INR 21 to 30 lakh, the Blazo series includes haulage, tractor trailer and tipper within the 25-49 ton range. Mahindra’s Blazo range is known for its FuelSmart technology that guarantees the maximum mileage. The FuelSmart switches let the driver select the mode as per varying load capacities, providing maximum efficiency from the mPOWER FuelSmart engine.
The Blazo trucks also come with a car-like Driver Information System (DIS) that displays vital details including the engine RPM, temperature, speed, fuel levels, tyre pressure, trip kilometer, diesel consumption per kilometer, battery voltage and service reminders.
To establish brand trust and lure potential customers, Mahindra also has come up with a unique proposition for buyers where customers can return their Blazo truck and get the full money back if it gives lesser fuel efficiency than their current truck.
Apart from this, Mahindra is also guaranteeing an uptime on service in which the vehicle will be back on the road within 48 hours, else the company will pay the customer INR 1000 per day as compensation.
