Jeeto Plus targeted at the evolving needs of logistics business
To expand its presence in the fast-growing compact-truck segment, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) first introduced the Jeeto range of mini-trucks in 2015 with new design, intense market research and customer feedback. Jeeto was launched in a modular range of 8 mini-trucks in S, L and X series, catering to mini-truck, micro-truck and three-wheeler customers.
The goal was to serve the requirements of below 1-ton payload customers segment and compete with the popular Tata Ace range of trucks. Shortly after launch, Jeeto becomes hugely popular among the SCV buyers, helping M&M to get nearly a quarter of the market share in the mini-truck segment with increasing month-on-month sales. Jeeto’s success prompted M&M to expand the range to Jeeto Minivan and CNG variants.
Jeeto Plus drive-in
In November 2019, Mahindra further expanded this compact truck with the introduction of a new variant Jeeto Plus. Jeeto Plus- priced at Rs 3.47 lac (ex-showroom Mumbai), targeted at the evolving needs of the logistics businesses. The Jeeto Plus truck comes with a bigger load body for the customer to carry voluminous goods.
M&M promises to enhance the value proposition for its customers through Jeeto Plus which comes with an increased payload capacity of 715 kg and a cargo length of 7.4 feet with a loading area of 3.3 square meters higher than the direct competition of Tata Ace. Jeeto Plus offers a mileage of 29.1 kmpl which according to M&M is 30% more to enable the customer to earn a higher profit; this is even by maintaining the ruggedness and superior reliability.
Jeeto plus get a bigger M-Dura 625 CC.single cylinder, direct injection water-cooled diesel engine with a power of 16HP @3600 rpm and torque of 38 Nm @1200-2200 rpm. The gearbox is a 4-speed manual, fully synchromesh type with a single-plate dry clutch. The independent front suspension with Mcpherson Strut type and the rear one is semi-trailing arm type. The front brakes are disc and rear drum and wheelbase is 2500 mm. Jeeto Plus GVW is 1445 kg and rated payload is 715 kg. The cargo box length is 7.4 feet and the width is 4.9 feet and 10.5 liters of a fuel tank. The tyre size- 8 ply-rating (R-12) 145/80. Jeeto Plus comes with four attractive colors-Dimond white, sunrise red, ultra-maroon blue and premium peach.
