June 2017: Ashok Leyland Records 11 Per Cent Growth in Sales

Sales of medium and heavy CVs grew by 6 per cent, while light CVs recorded a growth of 29 per cent.
The country’s second largest commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland recorded 11 per cent growth in June sales compared to the same month last year. The Hinduja Group flagship sold 12,330 units in June 2017 as compared to the 11,108 units sold in the same month last year.
Medium and heavy commercial vehicles registered a growth of 6 per cent clocking in a sale of 9,202 units as against 8,685 units sold last year, the company claimed. Light commercial vehicles also saw an increase in sales by a whopping 29 per cent and sold 3,128 units as compared to 2,423 units in June last year.
This should definitely be a boost to the company that registered 8 per cent drop in sales in the month of May. While the medium and heavy commercial vehicle division had witnessed a drop of 18 per cent, the sale of light commercial vehicles had gone up by 21.86 per cent.
During the fiscal 2016-17, company’s medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales volumes shot by 3 per cent to 1,13,296 units while the LCV segment witnessed 4 per cent increment recording 31,770 units.
