Iveco's Heavy Duty Model Stralis to be Featured in Upcoming Batman V Superman

Published On Mar 22, 2016By Lisa Pradhan

Iveco's heavy duty vehicles have won much appreciation, consolidating a strong market share in the global trucking space. Based in Turin, Italy, the company has a footprint that spreads over Europe, with models that are used extensively in the haulage and construction sector.

However, the company's products now find themselves used in a vastly different sphere. News had earlier surfaced that one of the company's heavy trucks, the Stralis, will be featured in the upcoming blockbuster movie, 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' The Stralis is one of the company's most sought-after model in its heavy-duty profile, and had even bagged the 'International Truck of the Year' Award in 2013.

Based on insight gathered from various online sources, the truck will be getting some decent on-screen time, unlike most of the brief product placement scenes in films. Not much has been revealed about the exact positioning of the model in the movie and the circumstances around it. However, a picture has been leaked on the web, showcasing the vehicle amidst the filming process.

Sources indicate that the truck would be present during a high-speed chase sequence, and some even hint that the vehicle would be present alongside Batman's infamous vehicle, the Batmobile. An earlier trailer for the movie depicted this same truck, amidst what seemed to be a chase between the Batmobile and a Dodge Challenger. The scene was shot in the American city of Detroit, blanketed in a gloomy, night-time environment.

The move comes out of a partnership between Warner Bros and FCA, a sister company of CNH Industrial, which owns the Iveco marque. The product integration is aimed at further strengthening the relationship between the two corporations. Reports claim that FCA has managed to squeeze many other models into the movie, from its vast umbrella of subsidiary brands. This includes vehicles from Fiat, Alfa Romea and even Maserati.

The auto-maker reportedly said in a statement, “With much of the action in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice being captured in and around FCA's own backyard of Detroit, product integration was organic to the filmmakers' vision, and FCA and CNH Industrial's extensive brand and product portfolio allowed the companies to address nearly every vehicle need for the film.”
