The Eurocargo truck model from Iveco (an Italian truck maker owned by CNH Industrial), was the recipient of the “International Truck of the Year 2016” award. The award was presented at Solutrans a biennial trade fair for haulage and urban transport professionals held in Lyon, France. The truck model was chosen by a jury of 25 industry professionals from leading CV magazines in Europe. Designed for the medium product segment, the truck was credited for making sound contributions to road transport efficiency. The basis for this was said to include its technical innovations, comfortable design, safety elements, environmental sustainability as well as total ownership cost. “Iveco has delivered a new medium duty truck that once again raises the bar in a highly competitive segment in which the Eurocargo has set the market benchmark in for the last 25 years,” said Gianenrico Griffini, chairman of the jury, which had chosen the truck.

This marks the fourth consecutive award for CNH Industrial's commercial vehicles. Previously, the company bagged

the “International Truck of the Year 2013” for its model Iveco Stralis, the “International Van of the Year 2015” award for the Iveco Daily and the “International Coach of the Year 2016” emblem for the Iveco bus, Magelys.

“We are very proud of this recognition for our new Eurocargo,” said Pierre Lahutte, brand president of Iveco. “It is the latest generation of a vehicle that has been leading in the European medium segment for years. We are the only truck and bus manufacturer that has four 'vehicles of the year' in production. This is a strong recognition of the investment made in our product range renewal as well as our technological leadership.”
