Isuzu Motors India to resume operation at SriCity plant

In a positive step, automotive companies are gearing up to restart production after securing necessary permission from local authorities. Isuzu Motors is among the first vehicle makers to start production. 

To get the economy back to normal resuming manufacturing plants is necessary. The automotive industry after several weeks of complete production shut-down is now gradually restarting operations. While challenges still persist with critical parts supply-chain restoration and getting workers back to the factories.   

Isuzu Motors India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Japanese Isuzu Motors today declared that it has received approval from the authorities of the Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, to resume production at its plant in SriCity.

The company has begun preparations to restart activities at the plant and aims to start the supply of vehicles at the earliest. It will co-ordinate with all component manufacturers to serve both the domestic and export customers.

Isuzu Motors India (IMI), a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors, Japan, was established in August 2012. Headquartered in Chennai, the company sells the popular ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross – India’s first lifestyle and adventure pick-up and the ISUZU mu-X, premium 7-seater SUV in the personal vehicle segment and variants of ISUZU D-MAX pick-ups – S-CAB and Regular Cab, for the commercial segment.

Isuzu Motors India has a manufacturing plant in Sri City, spread over an area of 107 acres in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
