Indian CV maker's January Exports are on the Rise

Commercial vehicles sales in the domestic market are on a path of recovery, thanks to the growth in exports. The CV sales in the month of January 2016 recorded a growth of 32.68 percent. According to the reports, CV OEMS have exported about 9,423 units to the overseas markets that fuel growth.

In the ongoing fiscal year, manufacturers have exported 82,896 units making for a strong double digit growth of 18.36 percent.

Auto giants in CV industry like Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, M&M and VE Commercial vehicles are eying oversea markets to overcome the slow growth rate in the domestic markets. Overseas markets like south East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Russia and South America are welcoming the products from Indian CV manufacturers.

Among the 9,423 shipped units in January, LCVs make for 66 percent with 6,288 units. M&HCV segment also saw a significant growth number with exports of 3135 units.

In the domestic market, Tata Motors performed exceptionally and topped the list of exporters. With a total of 5,179 unit exports, it had recorded 40.70 % year on year growth. In the April-January period, it exported 43,153 units. Followed by Mahindra & Mahindra, with 2,570 units in January (23,261 units in April-January). Major overseas orders helped Ashok Leyland to witness a growth of 16.61% in January. SML Isuzu on the other hand, has managed to export 49 units in January, marking a growth of 58% (367 units in April-January period with 32%).
