FADA Conducts Ninth Auto Summit in Delhi

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) conducted the ninth Auto Summit in Delhi this Sunday. Based on the theme “Digital Dealer—Accelerate Opportunities”, the event was attended by top executives of the automobile industry. The summit was organized in association with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and provided a common platform for industry, automobile dealers, management consultants, academia and think tanks.

The event was inaugurated by several high profile guests including Mr Jayant Sinha, Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance, Government of India and Mr Ravi Pisharody, Vice President, SIAM and ED - CVBU, Tata Motors. Several sessions and workshops focused on digital marketing, improving dealer profitability and generating leads through the internet. The event was concluded by a question and answer round involving interaction with popular OEMs and an awards session.

Top digital auto players such as CarDekho, BikeDekho and TrucksDekho, a number of auto brands including Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki India, Honda Cars India, Hyundai Motors, Hero MotoCorp, Eicher Trucks and Buses, Renault India, and consultancies such as Boston Consulting Group and PolicyBazaar.com participated in the sessions. Other major organizations included Google, Yes Bank, Tyroo, amongst others.

The sessions provided useful insights and drew correlations between the commercial vehicle industry and the digital world. 'Digital Marketing for PVs' conducted by Mr Amit Jain, MD & CEO, CarDekho.com, Mr Vidyasagar Baliyara, SME Partner, Google and Mr Vikas Jain, Senior General Manager, Sales, Hyundai Motors focused on the increasing use of digital platform for marketing of passenger vehicles.

Another enthralling session by Mr Robinder Gauba, VP, TrucksDekho.com, Ms Charu Kishnani, VP, Content & Digital Marketing, CarDekho.com and Mr A Vinod Kumar, Vice President, Marketing, Eicher Trucks and Buses, VE Commercial Vehicles, highlighted the significance of digital marketing for commercial vehicles.

The theme stressed on the increasing trend of digitization that is highly dependent on cloud, mobile and social technologies, and the importance of digital marketing in today’s world. The summit also stressed on the significance of accelerating the work on the ‘Digital India’ vision.
