European Logistics Major Ekol Orders for 150 Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks

Europe’s one of the largest logistic service provider Ekol which operates internationally, has ordered for 150 Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks. This is the first order that Mercedes-Benz, the world’s largest truck manufacturer, received from the company. Five trucks have already been delivered at the Daimler AG plant’s customer centre situated at Worth, all painted in Ekol theme.
All 150 trucks are 1842 LsnRL Euro VI models with 3,700 mm wheelbase, packed with state of the art features that include super luxurious cabin and latest technologies. The power house will be next-gen OM 471 diesel motor along with air suspension at all axles, ESP, Lane Keeping Assist, Active Brake Assist and more. Cab interiors are also quite spacious and a level floor ensures easy through-cab access.
Commenting on the deal, Mr. Till Oberworder from Mercedes-Benz said, “Our economical and eco-friendly long-distance haulage vehicles and the close-knit Mercedes-Benz service network in Europe go a long way to supporting the expansion strategy of Ekol Logistics.” He further added, “At the same time, it speaks volumes for the success of our transnational customer support. Our Global Key Account Management was able to successfully carry out such a large order together with many different Daimler value-added partners in Turkey, Romania and Germany.”
Mr. Ahmet Musul from Ekol was also present at the handover of the first trucks and shared his views. He said, “The Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks are fuel-efficient and reliable. They keep operating costs low, are extremely environmentally friendly - and they are our preferred choice, as eco-friendliness, performance and cost benefits are characteristic core values of the green logistics that Ekol has championed for many years now.”
Ekol aims to use these new tractor units in the automotive industry in Romania for supplier and intra-factory transportations.
