The most powerful full-electric cargo auto-rickshaw, the HiLoad comes with some of the best segment-defining features that make it unique in its category. We take a detailed look at the top USPs.
Among the key vehicle segments that are witnessing a rapid transition to the electric powertrain is the last-mile cargo three-wheeler. With the high operating cost due to soaring diesel prices, customers of this price-sensitive segment are looking for alternatives. Cargo e-rickshaw emerged as the most obvious choice due to affordable price, easy to use and their relatively lower running cost enabling higher earning potential thus lifting the monthly income of these micro transport entrepreneurs.
And to win over the customers of this evolving vehicle category, not just the established OEMs that are eyeing leadership but a bunch of start-ups are trying to disrupt this volume segment that is fundamental to the door-delivery supply chain. One new player in the segment is the Euler Motors-that has introduced the HiLoad which comes with high power, modern battery, large size cargo deck and segment-first connectivity features to attract the buyers away from diesel/petrol/CNG vehicles. The HiLoad takes on key competitors like Mahindra Treo Zor, Piaggio Ape E Xtra, Atul Elite Cargo and Altigreen NEEV.
Should you be buying an electric cargo three-wheeler to reduce your operating cost? And would you consider buying the HiLoad? To answer your questions we take a look at the top UPSs of this all-new e-cargo three-wheeler whether they are really worth a deal.
Higher Payload
What really determines the buying decision of a cargo vehicle is the capacity to carry any cargo/logistics efficiently. The HiLoad certainly scores far better than its rivals in the category. Despite being battery operated cargo vehicles, the HiLoad is available in two variants- HiLoad DV and HiLoad PV with 688 kg and 655 kg of payload respectively. A lot more than the IC engine auto-rickshaw that is running on the roads presently, that means the hesitation of lower payload electric vehicles no longer constrains the performance.
Powerful Battery
An equally important element of the HiLoad is the modern lithium-ion which is well integrated into the chassis that makes the whole vehicle's body construction well blending together. The battery is an L5N battery that has a 12.4kW capacity and voltage of 72V which means you’re assured of top-class performance no matter what is transported.
Top Range
The single deal breakers for any electric vehicle is the range- that means the capacity to run on a single charge. Interestingly, HiLoad comes with an encouraging promise in the range department. Euler Motors has worked with extensive market research and got data around use and pattern, based on the customer feedback that it is identified as an average three-wheeler daily run. Thus, the HiLoad gets 151 km and 129 km of certified range on each variant, the real-life range stands approximately 110 km, which is quite frankly adequate for day-long operations on the last-mile routes.
Fast Charging
While you get a far better range to run the Hiload on daily cargo/logistics routes without worrying about the charging need or finding a charging location. Yet, what is also interesting about HiLoad is that even if you choose to charge the vehicle at the end of the day at home or a business centre, it takes a reasonable lower time for a full charge. Unlike the traditional lead-acid batteries, the lithium-ion batteries are far superior technologies, and hence you could get your HiLoad battery top-up between 3.5-4 hours flat. The maximum speed of this e-rickshaw is 42 kmph.
Higher Torque
Now to take your heavy cargo/logistics deliveries quickly and as efficiently as possible you need high torque. HiLoad won’t disappoint you, as you get 10. . The motor peak torque of 88.55 Nm, the highest in the segment. This supports the high 600 plus payload capacity comfortably. And the automatic transmission ensures your driving experience remains as effortless as possible with far lesser fatigue during day-long trips.
There is more to the HiLoad than the top five UPS, and Euler Motors sharpens the performance and sets the HiLoad apart from the rivals with features such as projector headlamps, disc brakes, and tyres with wider widths. To ensure better safety, you get a low centre of gravity, far greater battery temperature management and a much safer and more convenient cabin. You also get standard telematics solutions from the company that enable superior utilization of the fleet that includes GPS, geo-fencing, energy efficiency, fleet notifications, and driver monitoring.
It is evident that the HiLoad has what it takes to not only offer a strong alternative to transport/fleet customers but also expand the scope of an electric cargo three-wheeler in terms of what they can do on the ground. This marks the huge transformation in India’s EV journey as competitors look to further improve products to bring value to the customers.
