EU Records Rise in Commercial Vehicles Registrations for Ninth Consecutive Month

Demand for new commercial vehicles in the European region has grown significantly over the past nine months. Sales volumes have jumped by 14.7% on a year-on-year basis, reaching 208,077 units. This was reported by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). The trade firm confirmed that the growth impact was uniform over all CV segments.
“Spain and the UK confirmed the positive momentum posting double‐digit percentage gains, followed by France and Italy, while Germany remained stable,” the ACEA declared. Data brought out by the group also revealed that over the past nine months, the EU market grew by 12.12%, taking in a total of 1,517,247 commercial vehicles. “During the same period, Spain, the UK, Italy, Germany and France all posted growth,” the ACEA further stated.
Looking into growth specifically relating to segments, the LCV field witnessed sales of 173,515 units, giving a 14% rise over the past year's period. This marked the 25th consecutive session of growth for the segment. The heavy truck segment recorded a substantial rise of 20.2%, coming to 24,912 units over the same period. The bus and coach market rose by 29.8% over the last year, bringing sales of 4,018 units.
