Eicher strengthens its presence in e-Commerce Industry

Eicher Truck and Buses has introduced five new variants of its Pro 1000 and Pro 3000 series of trucks at Eicher Pro Biz Expo, these trucks are mainly focused at catering to the e-commerce industry in India. The variants introduced include 24ft long cargo bodies in the Pro 1110, Pro 1110XP, Pro 1110XP, Pro 3012/14 and Pro 3015.
With the introduction of the new trucks, Eicher has further strengthened its position in the LMD market and now offers the largest range of trucks suited for various goods applications.
The event was held at Dr Prabhakar Kore Convention Centre in Banglore from November 22 to 23. The aim of the event was to bring together its customers and key stakeholders in the e-commerce industry and give them first-hand experience of Eicher’s smart solutions like Aftermarket Lifetime Support System which provides services like on-site repair, AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) along with Telematics and various other services that are important for commercial transport services. All these services are designed considering the needs of the industry for long haul to short haul and last-mile delivery.
Talking at the event, Shyam Maller, Executive Vice President, Light & Medium Duty Trucks and Buses, VE Commercial Vehicles, said, “The e-commerce industry in India is growing at an exponential rate and we believe in serving our customers by providing them with the right and practical solutions for their requirements. Leveraging our established strength in the Light and Medium Duty (LMD) space, we have widened our offering to cater to the specific demands of the high potential e-commerce market. Eicher now offers much wider and stronger range in the LMD segment with products ranging from 4.9T to 16T Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), out of which we have displayed 13 vehicles today. We believe ours is the most compelling proposition for this segment of the industry.”

Backed up with a strong after sales network and our proposition of Eicher Lifetime Support Solutions, we have taken one more step towards promising superior uptime for the vehicles and business profitability for our customers.”
To support the e-commerce industry, these trucks are offered with a segment-first 24-feet cargo body along with benefits like higher Volume Space Index and best-in-class payload and fuel efficiency. Being the most fuel efficient, they are also cost effective as they have the longest service interval of 50,000km.
Coming to the technical specifications, these trucks are powered by an E494, 4-cylinder BSIV engine. It comes with Volvo’s 3.0 EMS( Engine Management System) which allows better combustion efficiency, thus resulting in best-in-class fuel economy, better pickup and acceleration. The cabin on the trucks has also been designed with an aim at maximising driver’s comfort, efficiency and utility.
Unlike the Pro 1000 series, the Pro 3000 series trucks are offered with Eicher’s smart services like Eicher Live, fuel coaching, Intelligent Driver Information System (IDIS), cruise control, parabolic suspension, domex chassis and 395-litre fuel tank. However, these features are offered as optional and are not part of the standard kit.
