Eicher Polaris JV Launches Multix Pickup in Madhya Pradesh Market

Eicher-Polaris, a joint venture (JV) between Polaris Industries, USA and Eicher Motors, India, has launched its standalone vehicle Multix pickup truck in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The JV is also set to take the dealership numbers to 15 in the near future. Commenting on the launch, Mr. Radhesh C Verma said, “At present, we have four dealers in Madhya Pradesh including Indore, Bhopal, Rewa and Shahdol. By December we will raise this number to 15.”
He further added, “MULTIX will be manufactured at the company's plant in Kookas, Rajasthan. The installed capacity of the unit is 60,000 which can be enhanced to 1,20,000 in case of need.” The vehicle has been designed for a specific customer base which require low weight to be transported along with a bit comfort. The company predicts a potential customer base of nearly six to seven crore, if not more.
Talking about Multix, the pickup is available in two versions AX and MX with the wheelbase of 2,005 mm and ex-showroom price of INR 2.4 lakh. It’s powered by a 510.7 cc single cylinder BS-III diesel engine which churns out 9.78 bhp power and 27.1 Nm torque. The GVW of pickup is 1,150 kg and AX & MX versions have payload of 400 & 500 kg, respectively. It’s fit for small food boxes, FMCG, and other such loads. Coming to the comfort part, the cabin comes equipped with AC, power steering, speakers, adjustable seats, 5-people seating capacity and lots of leg room.
The pickup surely could be used for a small family trips as well while making the intra-city journey for transporters comfortable and entertaining.
