BharatBenz 1217 has a GVW of 13000 kg and a payload capacity of 8080 kg. A ground clearance of 245 mm keeps maneuverability smooth in bumpy mining and construction areas and uneven, pot-holed roads. A heavy-duty banjo type rear axle and multi leaf rear suspension with helper springs keep the vehicle stable as well as promise a smooth ride for the driver.
A fuel tank of 160 liters and a gradeability of 33% ensure that the tipper easily traverses on uneven terrain and off-road, uphill conditions even when loaded to its full capacity. A 7400 mm turning radius is decent enough and enables the vehicle to navigate turns, curves and bends easily. All these features coupled with a good 81 km/h max speed help in completing more trips in lesser turnaround time.
