Bajaj three-wheeler sales down 16% in May 2022

The market leader in the auto-rickshaw segment in India reported a drop in overall sales due to lower shipments of export in the month.
Bajaj Auto, the leader in India’s overall three-wheeler/auto-rickshaw market and a large exporter has recorded a double-digit drop in monthly sales. The company sold a total of 16,206 units of auto-rickshaws in the domestic market, a massive jump of 3221% due to the lower base in May 2021. In exports, the firm registered a drop of 67% to 10,163 units in the month as against 31,308 units in May 2021.
Bajaj auto is the leader in India’s last-mile people mobility segment with its famous Compact RE leading the auto-rickshaw segment, followed by the Maxima Z, and Maxima X Wide. In the cargo carrier segment the Maxima C is leading from the front, taking on aggressive rivals with its promise of higher mileage and lower operating cost.
