Ashok Leyland’s BS6 tipper range revealed

Vital Segment
The tipper category among the overall truck industry is vital for critical applications. Tipper find applications in construction and mining, both are essential for infrastructure and nation-building, and they often operate in challenging operating conditions. The tipper segment is extensive in the tonnage categories, starting right from the intermediate to the heavy-duty category.
Ashok Leyland has introduced an extensive range of BS6 tipper in the modular platform. The tippers include various tonnage sub-segments. We cover the medium and heavy-duty tippers starting from 19T, to 28T, 35T and 42T GVW categories.
The company has two powertrain options with 200 and 250 HP engines across all the segments, the 200 HP, the tried and tested H series BS6- cylinder engine and 250 HP, A series 4-cylinder BS6 engine, both comes with the company's indigenous with iGen6 technology.
The BS6 tipper range of Ashok Leyland stands on key characteristics of superior fuel efficiency, greater tyre mileage and higher productivity and performance, top-class reliability, and lower maintenance, and safety is in-built in these tippers.
The one visible difference with BS6 trucks as compared to their BS4 predecessors is the shift towards higher power engines. Ashok Leyland has now moved-up with its engine power offering, unlike the earlier generation 150, 180 and 230 HP standards configuration, the new BS6 tipper comes with powerful 200 and 250 HP engines. This underlines the fundamental shift in the Indian trucking sector, where a propensity for higher and higher power becomes an industry standard.

1920:
This dual axle 4x2 tipper is 18.5T GVW get all the modern features and aggregates for the lower end of the market with relatively smaller operating sites. The 1920 tipper gets higher power of 200 HP with the H series, 6-cylinder BS6 engine equipped with Ashok Leyland’s CRS iGen6 technology.
This new engine comes with a maximum torque of 700 Nm. The gradeability is 41.6% and 44.5%. The tipping bodies are 6.5m3, 8.5m3, 10.5m3 and 12m3.
2820:
This multi-axles 6x4 tipper is 28T GVW with modern features and aggregates for the higher end of the market with massive tonnage and higher quality tipping applications. The 2820 shared the similar powertrain of that its siblings the 1920.
The gradeability figures are 28.54% and 43.17%, and considering the higher tonnage capacity of this tipper, it gets bigger tipping bodies measuring 14m3, 16m3, 18m3 and 20m3.
2825:
In the similar multi-axles 6x4 tipper configuration in the 28T GVW tonnage, Ashok Leyland is now offering higher power tipper for the customer looking for greater performance and faster-turnaround time. The 2825 tipper gets 250HP, A series, 4-cylinder BS6 engine with CRS iGen6 technology of the company. The 250 HP of higher power comes with a massive 900Nm of torque @1200-1800 rpm.
The gradeability figures are 45.57%, 48.24% and 63.9 and the tipping bodies measuring 14m3, 16m3, 18m3 and 20m3 for a variety of material.
3520-3525:
The 35T GVW tipper comes both the engine options from the company, the 200 and 250 HP for the same tonnage but different operating requirements with varying combinations of power.
The 3520 tipper gets the 8x2 axle configuration with 200 HP engine, the gradeability is 18.76% and tipping body of only 20 m3.
The 3525 tipper gets the 8x4 axle configuration with 250 HP engine, the gradeability is 48% and tipping bodies of 16m3, 18m3 and 22m3
4220- 4225:
This yet another 42T GVW tipper family with two engine configurations with both the 200 and 250 HP in the 10x2 and 10x4 axle configuration.
The 4220 gets 10x2 axle configuration with 200 HP engine with the gradeability of 21.82 in a combination of two tipping bodies of 24m3 and 26m3.
The 4225 comes in 10x4 axle configuration with 250 HP engine with gradeability of 32.36% and same 24,3 and 26m3 tipping bodies.
