Ashok Leyland launches two new heavy-duty tippers

The modular AVTR based 28T and 35T GVW tippers are powered by a 320hp engine and produce a whopping 1200 Nm of torque to cater to high-end applications like deep-mining.
To cater to the critical infrastructure and mining applications with high powered tippers, Ashok Leyland has expanded its tipper portfolio with the launch of a new powerful range of top-end heavy-duty tippers in the 28 and 35T gross weight category. Based on the modular AVTR platform the 2832 and 3532 are powered by massive 8.0L A6 series engines with iGEN6 technology.
The high-end engines produce 320hp of power and a mighty 1200 Nm of torque making them suitable for some of the most challenging operational needs. Ashok Leyland manufactures engines across all the truck categories, and the new powerful A6 engines come from its in-house capabilities promising superior torque, higher acceleration, greater pulling power and best fuel efficiency.
Ashok Leyland’s modular heavy AVTR range became tremendously successful by winning customer trust with overall performance. The current tipper range comes with H6 and A4 engines that deliver a maximum of 250 HP. To address the needs of high-end applications that engines that are more powerful for some of the key applications like deep mining, road construction, irrigation, deep mining, boulder quarry and others. With the launch of AVTR 2832 and AVTR 3532, Ashok Leyland is filling the vital gap in the portfolio.
Modern Engines & Aggregates
To ensure the customers get the most from the tipper when they need it, the new tippers range is equipped with a modern A6 engine that is capable of producing high power and torque for faster pickup and acceleration to achieve higher productivity. The tippers are fitted with a heavy-duty hub reduction rear axle with a 7.2:1 deeper ratio for superior torque at wheels for higher gradeability and faster turnaround time. The newly designed heavy-duty bogie suspension with higher diameter U-bolts to withstand severe articulation on off-road and improved V-rod and radius rod to efficiently handle lateral forces and ensure roll stiffness.
Also, the high tensile strength of 1250 mpa material rock type load bodies and rock breakers to withstand the shock loads when heavy rocks are dumped from heights. The 430mm diameter clutch offers higher durability and uptime, and the heavy-duty 9-speed direct drive gearbox with suitable ratios and fully synchronized shifting for better torque transmission, pickup and long life.
High Turnaround Time
Heavy tippers often operate in the most demanding and challenging operating cycles, here the higher turnaround is vital for executing projects faster with greater efficiency and productivity. Ashok Leyland’s new tippers offer greater reliability and also ensure higher uptime. The high tensile HSFQ 550 Mpa material frame of the tippers ensure higher strength and superior load-carrying capacity, and the 11-inch frame width suits arduous operations and ensures higher reliability and long life.
The new tippers ensure the customer spends less on operational and maintenance costs that translate into higher revenues and profits. For example, the engine oil change interval is after 1000 hours of operation, and the gearbox oil change after 3000hr. The lube of the propeller shaft is for life, and the unitised hub bearings at front hubs are maintenance-free. The rear wheel hubs are oil lubricated. The higher diameter V-rod and radius rod bush for higher durability and wear pads with ADI material for best-in-class life.
High Safety & Comfort
Safety is another key focus area for Ashok Leyland, and the new tippers are packed with safety features. The new A6 engine has an engine brake feature that ensures superior retarding power in downhill operations with a load. The anti-roll bar offers better stability and safety while cornering, and the 10 bar brake system offers powerful and sure stop braking even under extreme operating conditions.
The new tippers are offered with Ashok Leyland N-type cabins that are fully air-conditioned and spacious with 4 louvres. The cabins are high on ergonomics with global design standards, and crash test approved as per AIS 029 standards. The 4-point cab mounting, weight adjustable driver seat offers superior driving comfort. The air-assisted clutch booster for low clutch pedal effort and higher driving comfort. Also, the cable CSO with twin levers for smoother gear shift for enhanced driver comfort and productivity. The ride comforts are ensured by the heavy-duty parabolic suspension.
