Ashok Leyland introduces a 14-tyre, 4-axle rigid truck with a higher payload 

Aiming to change the transport sector with its innovative products, and offer more value to its customer, the company says, the AVTR 4120 is the first of its kind 4-axle rigid truck that carries 40.5 tonne GVW of cargo. 

Expanding the multi-axle range of trucks that promise more productivity, thus helping the customer run an efficient fleet, Ashok Leyland today launched the AVTR 4120 rigid truck. This is India’s first 4-axle 8x2 dual tyre lift axle (DTLA) truck that gets 14-tyre and based on a modular AVTR platform. This new rigid truck comes with a cargo carrying capacity of 40.5 tonne Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), this is 5 tonnes more payload as compared to standard 8x2 truck with a exceptional total cost of ownership (TCO). Ashok Leyland’s  major top-end multi-axle rigid trucks (10-16 tyre) that are available includes the 4825, 4220, 3520, and 2820.

The 4120 rigid truck will cater to the 40.5 tonne GVW segment with a lift axle that is par with the 10x2 truck in revenue and payload. At 28 tonnes with the lift axle up with a lower fuel and operating cost similar to that of 6x2 truck during light load/partial load/return empty. With the new product, Ashok Leyland promises high flexibility to operate at a large band of GVW from 28T to 40.5T with best in class TCO benefits.

AVTR 4120 is fitted with a 12.5-tonne dual tyre lift axle (DTLA) with Patented Parallogram technology – which ensures better tyre life. AVTR 4120 is powered by a 200 HP engine with iGen6 technology offering superior power, performance and fluid efficiency.
