Ashok Leyland Captain 40iT Launched in Kolkata

India’s second largest commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland has launched its flagship Captain tractor series in Kolkata. The company unveiled Captain 40iT at the event. The truck has gone under rigorous testing of 2.3 million kilometers on the roads and internal tracks. The cabin of this all new tractor also comprises of best-in-class features with highest tilt angle and an intelligent Engine Management System (EMS). This new EMS has the dual data switch which offers optimum fuel consumption and economy while the truck runs empty or loaded. This new feature will surely help fleet owners who operate with heavy loads over longer distances. Also, the dual data switch feature is available in 40T to 49T GVW range.

Talking about its performance, the truck is equipped with a turbo-charged diesel engine that is able to churn out a maximum power of 180 bhp and a maximum torque of 660 Nm, as per the official statement. The company has developed the vehicle with inputs from drivers to make sure that the best product is delivered to Indian customers. Captain 40iT is also supposed to offer better pickup and ease of maintenance.
