Ashok Leyland AVTR 2825, India’s first 9-speed AMT tipper launched

The new tipper aims to reduce driver fatigue and stress in a big way, and also come with innovative features such as rock-free mode and integrated Hill-Start-Aid. The company also introduces AVTR 4825 10x2, a heavy-duty tipper with a tandem dummy axle.

Ashok Leyland, India’s top-heavy truck maker today launches the AVTR 2825 touted as India’s first Tipper with 9-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) – the AVTR 2825.

Since the inception of AVTR, the first modular commercial truck platform in India, Ashok Leyland has focused on improving driver comfort and providing better fuel-efficient products, thus enhancing customer profits. The new AVTR 2825 with 9 speed AMT can operate in different transmission modes (automated and manual) and deliver high fuel efficiency with its acceleration-based gear shifting. 

Strong Tipper Portfolio

With the addition of AVTR 2825 AMT, this innovative tipper further bolsters Ashok Leyland's already strong heavy tipper portfolio that includes some of the industry’s top-end tippers including 4825 10x4 bogie suspension,  4825, 4225 10x4, 4225 10x2, 4220 10x4, 4220 10x2, 3520, 2832 8x4, among others.  

Ingenious technology of AMT in AVTR 2825 tipper eases driving efforts with its unique features like rock-free mode and integrated Hill-Start-Aid. This technical advancement helps in drastically reducing driver fatigue and stress while operating in a challenging environment the tippers are subjected to.

AVTR 4825 10x2 tipper with tandem dummy axle

The company also introduced the AVTR 4825 10X2 NRS with a Tandem dummy axle tipper powered by a 250HP A4 series engine with i-Gen6 technology, delivering superior engine performance and durability. The innovative, intelligent and indigenous i-Gen6 technology with its unique Mid-NOx strategy, ensures a significant reduction in DEF consumption, leading to lower cost of operation and superior profitability.

The AVTR 4825 10x2 tipper is fitted with a heavy-duty 9-speed gearbox for higher durability, a 12.5T dual tyre lift axle (DTLA) with patented parallelogram technology for better tyre life and a Heavy-duty Rear axle with Tandem Dummy in the rear. The new generation air-brakes with ABS and ASA, spacious Crash Code compliant Sleeper Cabin (with optional Air-conditioning) with full metal front jacket; enhances the ease of driving and bolsters safety.

After the launch of 4825 in 10x4, it is now made available in 10x2 for surface application for better TAT and fluid efficiency. With the boom of infrastructural developments in India, there is a surge in demand for the transportation of construction and mining materials across industries. The AVTR 4825 10x2 Tipper, fitted with 29cum Box Body, also available in varied body capacities, is suitable to carry Coal, Infrastructure and Road construction aggregates over longer distances and rough terrains.
